February Favourites ….

During February, I have been trying out a few products from The Ordinary, which is are a range of products from the Deciem Group.

I have been particularly pleased with the Vitamin C Suspension and have really noticed a difference in my skin, even though I have only been using it for a few weeks.  This product is essentially an anti-ageing and brightening lotion.  It is slightly gritty when you initially apply it to the skin (this is the Vitamin C in powder form) but it soon absorbed.  It does tingle a little bit when first applied, but this is not uncomfortable and soon wears off.  I have definitely noticed that my skin is smoother and softer, I am hoping that it will reduce some pigmentation that I have in time.  Also, the most amazing thing about this product, and indeed, this brand, is the cost – less than £5!!

I am forever changing my mascara, and over the past few weeks I have consistently been using the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes.  This is a great mascara.  It volumises and lengthens and is really black.  Definitely been a favourite this month.

Chanel have brought out a range of lip crayons that have so many gorgeous shades, it was so hard to pick just one.  I picked Cassis which is a rich berry shade and very satiny and moisturising on the lips. You can apply as little or as much as you like, and get a full lip colour or a more subtle lip stain effect.  A great winter shade. As spring approaches, I may have to revisit the Chanel counter!

Kiehls has always been a favourite brand, and I particularly like their Smoothing Oil-Infused Leave In Concentrate.  As you may know, I am letting my grey hair grow out, and one thing I have noticed, is that the untreated hair is in such a better condition than the dyed ends of my hair.  This concentrate can be used on either wet or dry hair, it isn’t at all greasy and is great at keeping those frizzy ends in check.fullsizerender-239

I first bought the L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask when it was launched last year, and I have been using it continuously ever since.  I am now on my third jar and it is a really great mask if your skin is feeling a bit congested or tired.  The only downside – I remove the mask with a facecloth, and it does stain them.  My solution is that I need to buy black facecloths!

Finally, I bought Pixiwoos book Face last year, and it came with a Real Techniques Blush Brush.  I have been using it every day since then.  A beautifully soft, tapered brush which blends perfectly.

So, February is just about over and the first signs of spring are arriving.  So lovely to see the daylight staying longer.

Have a great week  and see you soon.
