This year’s favourites …..

IMG_3272There were so many products I reached for again and again in 2017.  To be honest, I could have tripled the number of products that were favourites.  All, except one, are products that are new to me this year.  The exception being the Tartlette palette.

Something I have used ever since I first tried it, is the Double Serum from Clarins.  I absolutely love this and it has made such a difference to the hydration of my skin.

IMG_3277I know that this is a product that I will continue to purchase, and I have already bought my second one, just in case I run out!

The Kiehls Smoothing Oil-Infused Leave-In Concentrate is also something I have continuously used all throughout 2017.  My hair tends to be quite fly away and this just keeps it smooth, but not greasy.  Simply lovely.

I think I picked up the Clinique All About Eyes as part of a gift with purchase, earlier in the year.  I have used this every day, morning and evening since I got it.  It is very light, but highly moisturising.  Another product that I will definitely be buying again.

When I first started by blog, I think I entered a giveaway on Twitter and won the Tartlette in Bloom eye shadow palette.  This is a brilliant palette with a great mix of matt, shimmer and colour.  I usually take this with me if I am going on a trip, because I can get any look I want with these colours.

Back in June, I did a blogpost on Rapid Lash.  Since, I started using Rapid Lash, my lashes are much longer and thicker.  I am now on my second pack and although it may seem expensive (around £40) it works out as less than £2 per week.  They look better than eyelash extensions too!

The power of the internet is strong, and I completely hold my hands up and admit I was completely swayed by watching some YouTubers use this product.  It is the BB Creme Nude by Erborian, a South Korean brand that I had not heard of before.   It is a great product and I use it alone, and sometimes as a primer under another foundation.  It has great coverage whilst still giving a very natural transparent look to the skin.

The next two products are from L’Oreal.  The Lumi Magique pure light primer is absolutely fabulous under foundation or on the cheek bones as a highlighter.  If you have great, young skin, you could use it on its own, just to give your skin a bit of a glow.

The L’Oreal Glam Nude CC Cream is a violet coloured cream that brightens up dull looking skin.  I use this under a light coverage foundation usually.

Day to day, I generally use a CC Cream or a light coverage foundation.  If I am going out in the evening, I might want a bit more coverage, so my favourite foundation this year has been Dior’s Star Studio Make-Up Spectacular Brightening Weightless Perfection with SPS30.  A bit of a mouthful, but a lovely foundation.

Another product that I have been reaching for over and over again this year, is the Gel Shine 3D Top Coat from Sally Hansen.  This is a high shine, gel like top coat and it is great on top of any polish.  IMG_3285

Last, but definitely not least, a lipstick from Tanya Burr.  I have to admit, that before I picked up anything from the TB range, I did not have particularly high expectations of the quality of the products.  This lipstick was the first thing I purchased and it has become my favourite lipstick of 2017 without question, and I have a LOT of lipsticks, believe me!  The shade is Pink Cocoa and it goes with everything, it is super creamy and lasts for ages.  I need to get a new one!

Well, another year comes to an end and a new one just about to start.  Don’t look back, for those days are gone.  Look forward with exitement at what might me.  Make memories to cherish, love in abudance and never be cruel or unkind.

A big thank you to all of my subscribers and to anyone else who may stray on to my blog.

Have a Happy New Year and may 2018 bring everything you wish for.

lots of love, Gail xxx
